The house
The holiday home Cortijo el Grillo is situated in Níjar, a charming white village in the foothills of the Sierra Alhamilla, in the east of Andalusia. The house, about 200 years old, maintains the structure of the traditional houses of the area, with thick walls and full of cosy corners. It is a 5 minute walk to the main square, shops and restaurants. As it is incorporated in the orchard area, it provides a rural and peaceful atmosphere, turning this space into a small oasis.
The Cortijo has several terraces, an old pond which has been converted into a swimming pool and a shaded porch within a splendid garden. Different fruit trees, autochthonous plants, many views and at the same time privacy, make the garden a unique place.

The house can accommodate up to six people. On the upper floor there are two bedrooms: the Room Blanca with en-suite bathroom and terrace, has a double bed and the Room Ocre with two single beds, has a separate bathroom and terrace. On the ground floor is the Room Añil with a double bed and a large bathroom with bathtub.
On entering the house you will find the spacious L-shaped living room with fireplace, stove and dining table. The kitchen is connected to the living room through an archway, has a pantry and direct access to the garden. Next to the room on the ground floor and accessed from the living room, there is a library area.
The accommodation is equipped with a dishwasher, electric oven, gas cooker, a small barbecue in the garden, a water purifier and a washing machine. For entertainment there are broad variety of games for children and adults, books, CD's, vinyls, stereo and fibre optic WIFI. The house has a wood-burning stove, a large fireplace, electric radiators, fans and hot/cold air conditioning in the upper rooms.
